C.O.O.L. (Children Of Our Lord)
Sunday School and
Contemporary Worship Sundays at 9:15 a.m.!
Parenting is tough these days. Despite our vigilance and efforts to be a guiding force for our children, much of what influences our children is out of our immediate control. As parents we make it a priority to send our children to school Monday through Friday to learn academic fundamentals. We also need to make it a priority to bring them to Sunday School every Sunday to learn how to navigate their Monday through Friday lives. At First we know the difference Christian Education makes in the formation of your child as a young person of faith in today’s world. The lessons they learn and the teachers that teach them may very well make the difference between a “right” choice and a “wrong” one.
C.O.O.L. (Children Of Our Lord) Sunday School meets during the school year from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Kindergarten through grade 6 engage in an innovative rotational Sunday School model, taking turns visiting cool centers for storytelling, delicious cooking, entertaining movies, creative science and art projects—all based upon the same Bible lessons and themes. At the end of each class time students join the Contemporary Worship Service in progress for a children's sermon and communion. We also offer a single-based classroom for our 3– and 4-year olds in our Zacheus’ Tree House.
Confirmation will meet on the 1st floor in Conference Room A and Senior High Youth will meet on the 3rd floor in the Youth Room each Sunday for a lively 30-minute table talk discussion about the day’s lessons and message.
First has more than ninety adults who volunteer their time during the year, preparing an amazing variety of learning experiences based upon the Bible lessons and themes and guiding children to their cool centers. Why do these people devote hours each week to this ministry? Because they know the tremendous difference the influence of Christian mentors and teachers can make in the life of a child. Here’s the catch—our teachers can’t do this job alone. Children only benefit from Sunday School if parents commit to bring them each week. Making a priority of attending weekly worship and Sunday School will not only make a positive difference in your child’s life, but will make a positive difference in your family’s week as well.
All children are welcome at C.O.O.L., you do not have to be a member to participate and friends are always welcome! Download our Registration Form above, or contact
