For more than 25 years, First Lutheran Preschool has served the greater Geneseo community by providing enriching classes for 3, 4 and 5 year-olds. Our mission is to offer a safe and nurturing atmosphere where the child's first school experience is positive and enjoyable. Our curriculum conforms to the goals and preschool standards put out by the Illinois State Board of Education and we are certified by the State of Illinois.
Our program curriculum includes free play, readiness, language arts, creative art, cooking, music, games, rhythms, and field trips. Our classrooms are sunny, cheerful places where creativity and exploration is foremost. Every effort is made to make the preschool situation a happy, comfortable place for your child to grow physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally.
This month at preschool: During May, the preschool classes will be busy making May Day baskets and Mother’s Day projects. Each preschooler will make a special card and gift for their mom. We also will be filling a large container with soil and planting corn, oats, and soybean seeds in it. We will use the soil and seeds that were brought to worship by the farmers in our congregation and blessed on the weekend of April 12 & 13, 2008. The planter will stay here at church during the growing season this summer. Our 4/5-year old classes will visit a Kindergarten classroom in Geneseo.
Mayfest
First Lutheran Preschool will have their annual Mayfest on Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Room. The afternoon festivities will include an old-fashioned ice cream social, mini-carnival and class programs. This is our annual fundraiser. Come and share in the fun!!
2008-09 Registrations Being Accepted NOW!
Registrations are currently being accepted for the 2008-09 school year. Please contact the Preschool Directors Ruthann Carton or Mary Williamsen at 309/944-4306 for a tour or for registration materials.
All children should be three years old by September 1, 2008 to be enrolled for fall. The weekly schedule is:
3-year-olds--9-11:30 a.m., Monday and Thursday
4-year-olds--9-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
4-year-olds--12:30-3 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday
4/5-year-olds--12:30-3 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday
The Preschool will hold classes from September 2008 to May 2009 and will follow the Geneseo school vacation schedule. A complete schedule will be provided at orientation. We will have preschool classes on Geneseo Teacher Institute days, and we do not end our classes early on early dismissal days for Geneseo teachers' meetings. We do NOT meet when Geneseo schools are closed due to inclement weather.
If your child is to be absent due to illness or other reason, please call the school to let us know at 309-944-4306. 
Tuition
Monthly tuition is as follows:
$77 for 2-day-a-week class
$95 for 3-day-a-week class
