For more than 25 years, First Lutheran Preschool has served the greater Geneseo community by providing enriching classes for 3, 4 and 5 year-olds. Our mission is to offer a safe and nurturing atmosphere where the child's first school experience is positive and enjoyable. Our curriculum conforms
to the goals and preschool standards put out by the Illinois State Board
of Education and we are certified by the State of Illinois.
Our program curriculum includes free play, readiness, language arts, creative art, cooking, music, games, rhythms, and field trips. Our classrooms are sunny, cheerful places where creativity and exploration is foremost. Every effort is made to make the preschool situation a happy, comfortable place for your child to grow physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally.
First Lutheran Preschool classes will resume on Wednesday, January 4! Winter is one of our main themes this month. We will explore how animals and people adjust to the cold weather as we talk about hibernation and winter clothes. The preschoolers will also celebrate winter by painting on snow and making snowmen to decorate our room. Other activities will include making
a dragon and having a parade to celebrate the Chinese New Year! The 3-year old class will hear the story The Gingerbread Man and they will make gingerbread cookies and puppets.
- On Tuesday, January 24, First LutheranPreschool will host a workshop titled,“Making Math & Science Fun
& Meaningful” by Starnet, an organization sponsored by the Illinois Board of Education, which isdedicated
to the education of preschoolers.
2011-12 Registrations Being Accepted NOW!
Registrations are currently being accepted for the 2011-12 school year. Please contact the
Preschool Director Ruthann Carton at 309/944-4306 for a tour or for registration materials.
All children should be three years old by September 1, 2011 to be enrolled for fall. The weekly schedule is:

The Preschool will hold classes from September 2011 to May 2012 and will follow the Geneseo school vacation schedule.
A complete schedule will be provided at orientation. We will have preschool classes on Geneseo Teacher Institute days,
and we do not end our classes early on early dismissal days for Geneseo teachers' meetings. We do NOT meet when
Geneseo schools are closed due to inclement weather. If your child is to be absent due to illness or other reason, please
call the school to let us know.
Tuition for 2011-12
Monthly tuition is as follows:
$85 for 2-day-a-week class
$105 for 3-day-a-week class
